To Our Lincoln Lion Families, 

We are very excited about the upcoming school year! Welcome to our new Lincoln School families, returning families, and our teachers and staff!

Our PTO leadership team brings together more than 60 parent and teacher volunteers to coordinate year-round programming and events. We’re excited for all that’s ahead and hope you’ll join us—whether by attending, volunteering, or sharing your talents to help our initiatives thrive!

This is our monthly PTO Newsletter. It will be sent at the end of each month informing you of all PTO activities. 

You can also follow us along on Facebook and Instagram throughout the school year.  

What We're Looking Forward to in September & October:

What is the PTO?

The Lincoln School PTO is a volunteer-run, non-profit group of parents, guardians, teachers, and staff dedicated to enriching our students' experience, supporting our educators, and fostering a strong school community.

In so many ways! We're glad you asked! You can donate, join our Monthly PTO Meetings held on the third Wednesday of the Month, and volunteer!

Attend a PTO Meeting!

Our next PTO Meeting will take place on Wednesday, October 15th @ 6PM at the Lincoln School Media Center. 

Why attend? Every Lincoln parent, guardian, and teacher is automatically a PTO member. Attending gives you the scoop on school happenings, updates from Principal Rehfield, and a chance to share your ideas. Plus, it's a great way to meet other parents and staff!

Join us from 6:00-7:30 PM on Wednesday, October 15th in person at the Media Center at Lincoln School.

📚 Read-a-Thon Until Oct 1

📚 Fall Book Fair: Oct 21–24

Fall Book Fair is almost here! Let’s foster a love of reading and support our school.

📅 Oct. 21–24, 2025

  • Tues 10/21: 3–4:30 PM

  • Wed 10/22: 2:30–4:30 PM

  • Thurs 10/23: 3–7 PM (Conference Night)

  • Fri 10/24: 8 AM–Noon (Conference Morning)

📍 Students can browse during classroom library times starting Monday.

📣Save the Date: Lincoln's 2nd Annual Soiree & 76th Annual Carnival

The Lincoln Soiree is back and better than ever! Join us on January 31, 2026 for a night of food, drinks, and prizes! This is an adult-only event. 

The Lincoln Carnival will take place on February 7th, 2026. We can't wait to transform our Lincoln School into a Carnival where students and families can come together to enjoy games, face painting, cotton candy, and more.

🎃Halloween Costume Exchange: September 27

The Lincoln PTO Green Team invites you to a Halloween Costume Exchange!
 
📍 Lincoln Playground

🕘 Saturday, Sept. 27 | 9:00–11:00 AM

Bring your gently used costumes and accessories, and swap for a “new-to-you” outfit. Donations accepted in the bin at the front of Lincoln all September.

Join Us on Thursdays for Lincoln Bike Bus!

We are excited to announce the Lincoln Bike Bus, running Thursdays this year!

  • Join Lincoln families and community members on a bike ride to school on Thursdays beginning Sept 18
    The bus will leave at 7:35am from Carpenter/Adams and parade around the streets, picking up kids and parents along the way to school. 
  • We’ll finish with a victory lap around the Carroll Park field.

🌍 Enrichment: World Language Program | Sign Up Today!

Give your student the world! 🌎 The Lincoln PTO World Language Program introduces kids to French, Spanish, Greek, Italian, or German—all taught by experienced teachers. This program begins on October 6. 

📅 Schedule: 20 weekly sessions during lunch/recess (German = 10 sessions)
🎯 Focus: Global awareness, cultural appreciation, and conversational skills—through games, songs, stories, crafts, and more!
💲 Fee: $225 (French/Spanish/Greek/Italian) | $112.50 (German, 10 sessions)

👟Calling Parents of 4th & 5th Grade Boys!

Hey, 4th & 5th grade boys! Let Me Run kicks off with twice-weekly practices after school at Lincoln starting Sept. 22. Join trained coaches for running and team-building activities:

  • Mondays: 3:15–4:45 PM

  • Wednesdays: 2:45–4:15 PM

The season ends with a 5K race on November 15th! Registration is $155/student, race fee $45. Angel funds available.

Every dollar that is received from the Lincoln Community by the PTO is used to help facilitate a better educational experience for our Lions and their teachers.
